A multimedia tour of ancient Kydonia through playful musical elements, using augmented reality technologies

The project entitled "Ancient Kydonia History Tour" is a collaboration between the Technical University of Crete (Laboratory of Distributed Information Systems and Multimedia Applications, SURREAL Research Group, School of Electrical & Computer Engineering, Technical University of Crete), Aegean Solutions S.A. and the Chania Antiquities Ephorate. This project offers the opportunity to residents and visitors of the city to familiarize themselves with a grid of historical heritage concepts and to motivate them to delve into the history of ancient Kydonia, with the aim of becoming active participants. The training through Augmented Reality and Serious Games, incorporating visual and audio content, introduces visitors to exciting modern technologies, which will help them to learn about the historical past of the city of Chania through diverse 3D visualizations and music.
