There is no planet B : Pop-up exhibition
In 2022, the theme of the EHD celebration is dedicated to sustainable cultural heritage. Sustainability (social, economic and environmental) is about how we meet our needs today without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs.
In particular, environmental sustainability refers to the way in which we exploit natural wealth and the environment itself, which is no longer able to cope with the incessant demands of human activity. In 2015, the member states of the United Nations adopted the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development) in the hope of a prosperous world, a healthy planet.
The Archaeological Museum of Chania participates in the European Heritage Days with the action "There is no planet B", assuming an essential role in the growing momentum for museums worldwide to take action to awaken their visitors to social and environmental issues. By linking specific exhibits in the permanent exhibition to Goal 14 - Life in Water, the proposed action aims to convey to the public a message of environmental sustainability: the blue heart of the planet, our seas, need careful management by all of us!
