Αρχική — Περιοδικές Εκθέσεις — «Το Αρχαιολογικό Μουσείο Χανίων από τον 19ο στον 21ο αιώνα: μια περιπετειώδης πορεία στον χώρο και στον χρόνο»
This temporary exhibition is organically linked to the "Development of the museological and museographic study for the permanent exhibition of the new Archaeological Museum of Chania", a project included in the Operational Programme "Entrepreneurship and Competitiveness 2007-2013".
The conception and organisation of the temporary exhibition entitled "The Archaeological Museum of Chania from the 19th to the 21st century: an adventurous course in space and time" was a particularly difficult and complex undertaking, as it was necessary to create, in the new building of the Archaeological Museum of Chania, which is not yet operational, a comprehensive, attractive and at the same time attractive exhibition without ancient artefacts.
The aim of the temporary exhibition is to present the multi-faceted and multi-faceted journey of the Museum of Chania from its foundation to the present day. This path, which follows the historical fate of our place, is documented and emerges on the one hand through the 'excavation' of a wealth of archival and photographic material, and on the other hand through the use of printed material, mainly drawn from the daily press, over a period of at least 100 years.
The thematic content of the temporary exhibition is presented in seven (7) bilingual wall posters with the following titles. The foundation of the Archaeological Museum of Chania. 2. 1. The establishment of the Archaeological Museum of Archaeology, from the looting of the German Occupation to post-war uncertainty. 3. The Museum is established. 4. Donations and deliveries of antiquities. 5. Two major donations of collections. 6. Exhibits tell their story. 7. The new Archaeological Museum of Chania 'emerges'.
The exhibition is accompanied by a brochure in two languages (English and Greek).
